Morgan Faulkner is one of the best known surfers in Texas. He grew up in Port Aransas, and first got on a surfboard at about age 8. Now, at the ripe old age of 24, he holds 2 national surfing titles, 22 Texas state titles and numerous other titles and pro/am championships from the West Coast, East Coast and Gulf Coast. As an amateur, he was a member of the United States Surf Team, representing the US in surfing around the world, and is now competing as a professional in the ASP World Qualifying Series. He is a master of the short board, long board and paddle board, as well as a certified life guard and an instructor of First Aid, CPR and Lifeguarding. He is a true waterman in every sense of the word and, when there is no surf, enjoys fishing, diving, wake surfing, tanker surfing and just about anything else that will keep him active and in the water. In addition to his Quiksilver/Roxy surf camps, he donates time every year to helping others learn to surf through free programs for blind, deaf and disabled surfers, and surfers with cystic fibrosis. He also donates many weeks of surf camp to schools and charitable organizations around the state of Texas.
Morgan now resides in Hawaii during the school year, where he attends Hawaii Pacific University and catches some of the world's best waves on a daily basis. You might also see him at other world class surf spots such as Tahiti or Puerto Escondido, or checking out the waves in California, Mainland Mexico or Nicaragua. He returns to his home in Texas every summer in order to share with his fellow Texans his love of surfing through his Quiksilver/Roxy surf camps.
Morgan's long-time sponsor, Quiksilver, is dedicated to introducing Texans to the great sport of surfing and has called upon him to create one of its premier surf camps in Texas. It is one of a select group of camps throughout the entire United States to receive the high honor of bearing the Quiksilver and Roxy names. Now in their sixth year in Texas, his camps have established a standard of excellence which others strive for.
Every camper will receive a Quiksilver poster of Morgan, giving a glimpse of his surfing around the world. Morgan is looking forward to sharing the stoke with as many new surfers as possible.
